New Couch To 5k Programme Launched

ESCAPE trails would usually run a C25k group face-to-face, but because of social distancing guidelines this is not currently possible. We realise that people still want to exercise during the coronavirus outbreak, and still need the support of other runners. So we have created an online C25k group. By joining the group, you can complete a virtual programme, and still get some of the benefits of a face to face group, including a medal at the end.

We will run face-to-face ESCAPE trails C25k groups once the social distancing restrictions have been lifted. You will be able to find dates for these in our events section.

Whilst we will always prefer to run groups face-to-face, we recognise that, for many reasons, these are not suitable for everybody. However, running on your own can make it hard to stick to a plan and stay motivated. Our virtual programme is designed to fill the gap between running in a group and running alone. Importantly, it still offers a community, with the support and motivation for someone running alone to stick to a plan and smash that 5k.

  • positive review  I absolutely loved the Intro to Trail Running at Harling Woods this morning. Neil and Hannah shared their knowledge from what kit you need to hill trail running. I even learned some new stretches at the end that I will be introducing regularly. The forest was beautiful and the pace was social so all abilities were included. Everyone had a big grin on their faces and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Escape Trails is perfectly named. After the crazy fortnight I have just had I really did feel I had escaped for a few hours. I feel physically and mentally energised. Thank you Neil and Hannah, I look forward to joining you again soon 😀

  • positive review  I just wanted to say a big thank you to Neil and Hannah, for my intro to trail running at West Harling Woods. I am new to running, but am drawn to running off road, what a great location to try it out in. The hosts were very knowledgeable, I learned a lot about equipment, techniques and warming up and down and had fun too! Thanks guys, I will definitely be joining you for a guided run soon.
