Update on events

Following on from new advice announced yesterday from England Athletics, we are pleased to say that we will be slowly starting to organise events again. These events will be very different to usual, with no more than 5 attendees, and strict social distancing being stuck to, but due to them being held outside, with no physical contact needed, we feel that it is safe to start up again.

We will be announcing dates soon, but as you can probably imagine, there are a lot of new, ever changing circumstances to plan for. These events will not be direct replacements for past ones that we have had to cancel, as in most cases we have to gain permits from land owners, which can take anything up to 3 months. So in the meantime, we will be running events where there is a short turn around time, where we will not be putting you or land owners at risk, and where we will not be using places that will be busy with an already increased number of visitors.

If you have a deferred place from a previously cancelled event, you are welcome to swap to one of these new events in a different location, or wait until we are back at the original one if you prefer. If you do see an event you would like to defer to please email us at escapetrails@outlook.com, and we will do our best to give you priority.

Thank you, your support and understanding during this very difficult situation for everyone, has been very humbling, and we want to do our best to fulfill our commitment to you as customers, whilst keeping you as safe as possible. If you have any comments or concerns about the restarting of events, please feel free to contact us at the email address included above.

You can find more information about the new EA guidelines at https://www.englandathletics.org/athletics-and-running/news/guidance-update-step-2/

On a personal level we can’t wait to be running on the trails with you all again soon.

Don’t just take our word for it

  • positive review  I absolutely loved the Intro to Trail Running at Harling Woods this morning. Neil and Hannah shared their knowledge from what kit you need to hill trail running. I even learned some new stretches at the end that I will be introducing regularly. The forest was beautiful and the pace was social so all abilities were included. Everyone had a big grin on their faces and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Escape Trails is perfectly named. After the crazy fortnight I have just had I really did feel I had escaped for a few hours. I feel physically and mentally energised. Thank you Neil and Hannah, I look forward to joining you again soon 😀

  • positive review  I just wanted to say a big thank you to Neil and Hannah, for my intro to trail running at West Harling Woods. I am new to running, but am drawn to running off road, what a great location to try it out in. The hosts were very knowledgeable, I learned a lot about equipment, techniques and warming up and down and had fun too! Thanks guys, I will definitely be joining you for a guided run soon.
