We get asked this question a lot, second only to shoe recommendations.
The short answer to this is “No”. We don’t believe in too slow, everyone is welcome.
Our events are about exploring the trails, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All of our events are run at a sociable pace with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the surrounding area. As long as you can comfortably run a suitable distance you will be fine. For example, if you are attending a 10k run, as long as you can run 5k comfortably, and have been gradually building up to 10k you will be fine. Similarly, if you are a speedy runner, be prepared that you may have to run at a slightly slower pace than you are used to.
For 2021, if needed and where possible, we will have the option of two differently paced groups, so you can run with others of similar ability. As the ESCAPE trails team continues to grow, we hope to have more options of paced groups in the future.
We think this is what makes us different, and gives our customers a different experience. We have no interest in organising races, there’s already lots of really fantastic races out there. It’s people getting out on the trails for the first time, or exploring new places that gets us excited, not how fast they do it. This will always be what ESCAPE trails is about.
