Guided Trail Run Trowse *extra date*

August 23 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

£10

Join us for a guided trail run from Trowse, running along the Boudicca Way to Caistor St.Edmund reaching the old roman town of Venta Icenorum. Where depending on interest we will be able to have a look around before heading back to Trowse. The runs are social and supportive and no one gets left behind. There will be lots of opportunities to take photos, and more importantly to take in the surrounding nature. The route has plenty of hills, and there will be the option of some hill training if wanted.

This event will start at the green in Trowse, and will be limited to just 5 people, plus one Run leader. Social distancing will be upheld at all times, with extra measures put in place to make sure everyone stays as safe as possible, if you have any concerns or questions about this please email us at escapetrails@outlook.com.

Due to us not being able to safely offer some of the usual benefits to our guided runs, we are running all events at reduced prices, and if you want to book onto this event to replace one that was cancelled earlier in the year because of the coronavirus outbreak please email us at escapetrails@outlook.com.

FAQS

Distance

This run will be 10 miles long – Please note that whilst aiming to be as accurate to this as possible, in some circumstances I may be slightly over or under this mileage, but this will be very slightly.

What pace will we be running at?

We will be running at a casual, social pace. These runs are not a race so please be aware that you may not be the slowest runner and we will be running at the pace of the slowest person.

How long will we be running?

I’m allowing 3.5 hours for this event, but this will depend on the abilities of the people attending, and how much people want to stop for photos etc. I want everyone to be able to enjoy it without feeling rushed, and to have time to answer any questions that you may have.

Parking?

There is plenty of on street parking nearby, but due to it’s close proximity to the City this event is easy to get to without a car as well.

What will I need?

We will be running on a variety of terrain from small sections of road, tracks and hard-packed trails so trail shoes, while not essential, would be advised – and be prepared to get them muddy!

Waterproof jacket and depending on the weather sun cream

At least 500ml of water and as many snacks as you think you’ll need.

Most importantly a willingness to enjoy the trails and have fun.

Refunds?

Although I do not offer refunds in general, if the event is cancelled due to conditions out of my control, where possible I will give at least 24 hours notice, and I will offer a transfer to another event or an 100% refund.

Cost £10, usual price for an event of this distance £13

  • positive review  I just wanted to say a big thank you to Neil and Hannah, for my intro to trail running at West Harling Woods. I am new to running, but am drawn to running off road, what a great location to try it out in. The hosts were very knowledgeable, I learned a lot about equipment, techniques and warming up and down and had fun too! Thanks guys, I will definitely be joining you for a guided run soon.

  • positive review  I absolutely loved the Intro to Trail Running at Harling Woods this morning. Neil and Hannah shared their knowledge from what kit you need to hill trail running. I even learned some new stretches at the end that I will be introducing regularly. The forest was beautiful and the pace was social so all abilities were included. Everyone had a big grin on their faces and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Escape Trails is perfectly named. After the crazy fortnight I have just had I really did feel I had escaped for a few hours. I feel physically and mentally energised. Thank you Neil and Hannah, I look forward to joining you again soon 😀
