The Rebellion Run 2023
Join us on the anniversary of Kett’s Rebellion for a guided trail run along the Kett’s Country Long Distance Trail.
The 18 mile route starts in Wymondham where Kett’s Rebellion began on 8th July 1549, and finishes just past Cringleford’s historic twin-arched bridge.
This route is full of history, nature and wildlife, making it a perfect trail for one of our guided trail runs. As with all our events, our hope is that it’s more than a run, and you’ll go home having learnt something new as well.

FAQS
Distance
This run will be 18 miles long
What pace will we be running at?
ESCAPE trails events are not races, and we will be running at a conversational pace. You will be put into a group of runners of similar ability, but please be aware you may not be the slowest runner in your group, so you may need to run slower than you are used to.
Experience Level? Intermediate These runs are suitable for anyone that has a good level of experience with running. The terrain will be harder going than the beginner level, with more obstacles and possibly more incline to climb. These runs will generally be run at a quicker pace than those in the beginner level.
How long will we be running?
We allow 5 hours for this event, but this will depend on the abilities of the people attending. We want everyone to be able to enjoy it without feeling rushed, and to be able to take in the beautiful surroundings.
Parking?
There are plenty of Pay & Display car parks dotted around the town of Wymondham.
Although this is a linear route, there are plenty of options for getting back to the start point in Wymondham and your car. Including trains, buses, and even a cycle path, for those of you adventurers that fancy running back.
What will I need?
We will be running on a variety of terrain from small sections of road, tracks, hard-packed trails and trail shoes would be advised.
Waterproof jacket and depending on the weather sun cream
At least 500ml of water and as many snacks as you think you’ll need.
Most importantly a willingness to enjoy the trails and have fun.
