Spring Coastal Trail Run 2023
Join us for a fully guided 19 mile trail run from Holme-Next-The-Sea to Wells-Next-The-Sea, this is a beautiful route following big sections of the Norfolk Coast Path. The route passes through small quaint villages, tidal marshes and pine woodlands, with endless opportunity to spot wildlife, and to see the big skies that Norfolk is famous for. There is also a cafe at the end in Wells, perfect for grabbing a cuppa and resting after the run.
What people said last year
” Well organised event, great group of people. Made to feel welcome. If you’re looking for a friendly and inclusive way to run long distance with great routes Escape Trails is a great option.”
This run will be 19 miles long
What pace will we be running at?
ESCAPE trails events are not races, and we will be running at a conversational pace. You will be put into a group of runners of similar ability, but please be aware you may not be the slowest runner in your group, so you may need to run slower than you are used to.
Experience Level? Intermediate These runs are suitable for anyone that has a good level of experience with trail running. The terrain will be harder going than the beginner level, with more obstacles and possibly more incline to climb. These runs will generally be run at a quicker pace than those in the beginner level.
How long will we be running?
We allow 5 hours for this event, but this will depend on the abilities of the people attending. We want everyone to be able to enjoy it without feeling rushed, and to be able to take in the beautiful surroundings.
There is parking at Holme-Next-The-Sea, which is a pay and display. You will need to make your own way back to your car at Holme from Wells if you park here. There is the regular Coasthopper bus that you can use for this if needed, which costs around £3.60
What will I need?
We will be running on a variety of terrain from small sections of road, tracks, hard-packed trails and sections of beach, so trail shoes would be advised.
Waterproof jacket and depending on the weather sun cream
At least 500ml of water and as many snacks as you think you’ll need.
Most importantly a willingness to enjoy the trails and have fun.
A fully qualified Run Leader to guide you along the route, and show you points of interest, history, wildlife etc.
Fully stocked aid station at half way.
£1 of your entry fee will be donated to the Norfolk Trails Team, to help with the upkeep of the trails.
What’s not included?
Travel back to your car from the end point.
