Here at Escape trails we offer guided trail running experiences around Norfolk and Suffolk.
Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or a novice, we organise these guided trail runs to cater for all abilities. We have lots of experience on the local trails and have planned different routes with a real variety of terrain and distance, so even if you have experience on the trails we can still find new trails for you to explore.
The runs are social and supportive and no one gets left behind. There will be lots of opportunities to take photos, and more importantly to take in the surrounding nature.
FAQs
What pace will we be running at?
When you sign up for an event you will be asked for a rough 5k, 10k or half marathon time, we will then use this to place you in a group with people of a similar ability, you will not be running at that pace.
All runs are led at a conversational pace, ESCAPE trails events are about taking in the scenery and enjoying the trails, not racing. Please be aware that you may not be the slowest person in your group, and you may need to run at a slower pace than normal.
What will I need?
We will be running on a variety of terrain from forest tracks to hard-packed trails so trail shoes, while not essential, would be advised – and be prepared to get them muddy!
Waterproof jacket and depending on the weather sun cream
At least 500ml of water and as many snacks as you think you’ll need.
Most importantly a willingness to enjoy the trails and have fun.
Experience Level?
All of our events have a required level of experience listed, making it easier for you to pick which runs you think are suitable for you, and which you’ll get the most enjoyment from. These are –
- Easy – These runs are suitable for anyone that’s been running on the road, and is now taking their first steps in to trail running. The terrain will be mostly flat, with very few obstacles. They are also suitable for anyone that is looking for a nice relaxed run, where they can just enjoy the trails without having to worry about pace.
- Intermediate – These runs are suitable for anyone that has a good level of experience with trail running. The terrain will be harder going than the easy level, with more obstacles and possibly more incline to climb. These runs will generally be run at a quicker pace than those in the easy level.
- Experienced – As the name suggests, these runs are suitable for experienced trail runners, that have experience with technical terrain and big inclines. These runs are generally outside of Norfolk and are in other parts of the UK.
